Can I Drive in Australia with a Foreign Licence?

Yes — if you carry your original foreign licence together with a NAATI certified English translation. This applies to driving, car rental and roadside police checks across all Australian states.

Important: International Driving Permits (IDPs) issued by Taiwan and China are NOT valid in Australia. You must use your original licence with a NAATI certified translation — an IDP alone is not sufficient.
